The National Assembly has been commended for steps taken to checkmate the alleged corruption in the power sector which had affected socio-economic development.
A chieftain of All Progressive Congress in Katsina state Alhaji Suleiman Ammani Yari made this commendation in an interview in kaduna.
He was delighted over the current investigation of two billion naira monthly expenditure by the Nigerian Bulk electricity- NBET for power purchase not delivered to the Nigeria’s electricity consumers.
While emphasing the need for the review of such agreement which he noted only favours international investors at the expense of the nation, he called for involvement of Anti- Corruption Agencies in the prove so that to achieve the desired objectives.
He appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to direct similar investigations in other agencies of the federal government to ensure probity in public expenditure considering economic challenges Nigeria is facing.
