In his quest to give the good people of Zamfara state a new hope amidst the current state of banditry, kidnapping and economic woes witnessed in the state, President Athletic Federation of Nigeria (AFN), Engr. Ibrahim Shehu Gusau
on Tuesday picked the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship nomination form at the Party’s headquarters in Abuja.
Gusau who was denied the party’s ticket in 2019 despite being a favourite and a top contender, maintained that economic and social well being of the good people of Zamfara state cannot be mortgaged for enriching very few elite at the detriment of the majority.
Speaking to newsmen in Abuja, the Sports Administrator who is also Athletics President of the Ecowas countries, said the people of his state deserved freedom, peace and security which he noted can only be championed by a true leader.
“The good people of Zamfara state need freedom, peace and security which is a mirage at the moment.
” These ingredients of a good life have become elusive to my people, and it is against the backdrop of these challenges and with every sense of modesty, I am offering myself to serve the good people of Zamfara state.
” The economic and social welfare of my people is non negotiable – freedom, peace and security of my people can only be achieved by a true, compassionate and visionary leader.
“Am calling on all the state delegates to vote credible person like me that will deliver dividend of democracy to the door steps of the good people of Zamfara state comes 2023” Gusau stated.
