Maj Gen LP rtd has tasked the graduands of the training of Short Service Course 47 to be be perpetually conscious of the import of this award ceremony.
In his address at the passing out of the cadets, Ngubane said, ” As you prepare for commissioning and deployment,



you must be perpetually conscious of the import of this award ceremony, pointing out that the awards presented to you today are meant to encourage and motivate you to re-double your efforts for optimal performance.
He continue, from the prizes that have been awarded today, it is evident that you have all done well, but those who distinguished themselves are usually recognized and rewarded, adding that this gesture shows that there is reward for hard work.
While congratulating the Champion Company and the individual award winners, he also remind them you that getting to the top is difficult but sustaining your position at the top is even more demanding.
He added, for those who did not win any prize today, he remind them that there is always a tomorrow for you to turn the table, if only you can prepare for that tomorrow.
Ngubane urged the graduands to remain focused, dedicated and committed to your duties and responsibilities upon successful graduation, adding that they should never be complacent at any point in your career.
He then said the future is bright but the level of brightness will depend on your character and your individual efforts.
Also the commandant in his welcome address at the occasion expressed his gratitude to the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister of Defence, Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Army Staff, for their unflinching support throughout the duration of the cadets’ training.
He also appreciate all the instructors with special recognition to the DMT, Chief Instructor Short Service Wing, Senior Training Support Instructors and indeed all staff of the Academy, for making what was undeniably a daunting task to be easily achievable.
While commenting on the the training the commandant said, Today is a special day in the Training Calendar of the Academy as it marks the culmination of the training of Short Service Course 47.
He further explained that the Beating of the Retreat signifies the culmination of the training period for Short Service Course 47, while the Award Ceremony is an opportunity to reward hard work by individual cadets who have excelled in military training and sporting activities as well as to deserving cadets’ companies of Ashanti Battalion that have won laurels in various competitions during the training period.
The commandant recalled that the training commenced on 4 Apr 22, pointing out that the training period was initially scheduled for 9 months but had to be extended by another 2 months in order to equip the cadets with special skills required to deal with the hybrid of threats within the operational environment that they will be joining soon.
He further explained that the eating of the Retreat signifies the culmination of the training period for Short Service Course 47, while the Award Ceremony is an opportunity to reward hard work by individual cadets who have excelled in military training and sporting activities as well as to deserving cadets’ companies of Ashanti Battalion that have won laurels in various competitions during the training period.
“The training of these cadets in the past 10 months has undoubtedly stretched the human and material resources of the Academy beyond limits, adding that after withstanding the rigours of the military training and character development, we have 293 cadets of Short Service Course 47 due to pass out of the Academy and be commissioned into the NA on 26 Feb 22.
According to him, “We are honoured to have 2 cadets from the Republic of Liberia who will be commissioned into the Armed Forces of Liberia.
