Insecurity Worsening On Daily Basis Under APC, Says ABG

Former Federal Legislator Hon. Shehu Bawa, popularly known as ABG has lambasted the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over rising insecurity across Nigeria.

He made the statement at venue of workshop he sponsored to train Kaduna youth on ICT and techniques on the use of social media as a veritable tool for mass enlightenment and social mobilization.

ABG decried economic bottleneck experienced by Nigerians, scoring the present administration low on fight against corruption, infrastructure development, social and economic growth.

“Nigerians have been thrown into a precarious situation and their condition made worse since 2015 when this goverment took over.

“It is high time the governments at the center and other APC governed states stopped deceiving Nigerians that they can change the fortunes of this country for the better when it’s glaringly obvious they have nothing to offer, ” he said.

Earlier, resource person, an ICT expert and consultant Paul Tarfa noted that with billions users of various Social media platforms for business and political engagements, it had become a necessity to be involved, not to be left behind.

He urged participants to think outside the box by being innovative and look beyond the traditional and conventional ways of social and political interactions, especially as 2023 Political calculations were already at top gear.

Tarfa mentioned Google, Twitter, Youtube and Facebook as highest traffic generating social media giants which he described as global tools of information at the fingertips of users, majority of whom he disclosed were youth between the ages of 16 and 22 of impressionable ages that could easily be misled .

While commending ABG for empowering youth on new media, the Abuja based IT expert challenged attendees to be wary of agents of destruction who spread fake news to incite friction in the society.

A trainee, Abubakar Zulkarnain disclosed that he had been coached on various IT techniques which he stated would prepare him to be an active stakeholder in charting the course of political activities and above all a social media influencer ahead 2023 general election.
