The High Court 07 sitting in Gusau in it’s first mentioning the case on Wednesday between Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa and National leadership of the All Progressive Congress APC under Maimala Buni has fixed February 17 of this year for further mention of the case.
The presiding judge, Justice Bello Kucheri said all the relevant counsels to first and second respondents the court considered has been given chance to gather their fact before the court for further mention slated on 17th February.
Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa according to his legal team under Barr. Misbahu Salahiddeen in an interview with Newsmen shortly after the adjournment of the case said, Senator Marafa is challenging Maimala leadership for an illegal dissolution of his factional state executives in Zamfara state few months ago.
According to him, the dissolution of the state executives of APC Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa’s faction in the state by Maimala as unconstitutional, undemocratic.
“We are challenging APC national headquarters for depriving the legitimate right of Senator Marafa politically during the last concluded state APC congress before the court of law as well as illegal dissolution of his party state executives”. He said.
Barr. Misbahu Salahiddeen pray to the court that both Matawalle’s faction, Abdulaziz Yari faction and Senator Marafa should remain set aside for justice to prevail.
“Our hope and prayers that, the case before this honorable court should be ruled out that all the three APC factions should be set aside so that everyone among the legitimate card carrying member shall be given legitimate right to exercise his or her civic responsibility in Zamfara”. He said
Also in an interview with Newsmen shortly after the adjournment of the case, counsel to APC National Headquarters, Dr. Liman SAN expressed satisfaction with the date slated by the court for further mention.
Dr. Liman further challenged that as far as APC national headquarters is concerned, there is no single recognized APC faction in Zamfara state.
“I want to make the clear testimony to everyone in Zamfara state that, as far as APC national headquarters under the leadership of Alhaji Maimala Buni’s extraordinary caretaker committee are concerned, there is no APC faction in Zamfara state but only one party one entity”. Dr. Liman SAN said.
