The All Progressive Congress APC Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa’s faction in Zamfara state has strongly condemned over what it described recent reckless and wild allegations made by publicity secretary of the APC Governor Matawalle faction, associating the state of insecurity with a Retired General Aliyu Muhammd Gusau that he owned 70 percent of the mining sites in the state.
This was made known by the Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa spokesman, Hon. Bello Bakyasuwa Maradun, in a statement issued to Newsmen in Gusau Thursday.
According to him, one of the publications in the Vanguard newspaper of 4th January, 2022 quoted Mr. Yusuf arguing irrationally by using when and how PDP Governors commiserated with Zamfara state on select security incidents as a basis for his spurious association.
He said, the senator Kabiru Garba Marafa’s APC faction counted themselves out of the accusation.
“The Senator Marafa-led faction of APC under the Chairmanship of Alh. Sirajo Garba Maikatako categorically condemns the allegation and consider it baseless, careless and irresponsible”.
He pointed out that their understanding of the formation and character of the three factions of APC in the state vis-a-vis the contents of the briefing from which the reports were developed point to the action as a product of the crafty government faction that depends on blackmail, propaganda and witch-hunt to survive.
“We are obliged by statements like this to call on the media to do well by indicating clearly the faction of APC from where they sourced the content of their publications”.
According to him, for recent record, Zamfara State has three factions of APC which includes, Former Governor Yari-led faction; Senator Marafa-led faction; and Governor Bello Matawalle-led faction in the order of their formation since the lingering crisis that characterized the party from 2019 to date. Unless the dispute is settled by competent court of law or acceptable consensus.
Hon. Bakyasuwa appealed to the professional standing of the media to properly label reports with their relevant factions to avoid misguided attributions.
He also called on governor Bello Matawalle-led faction of APC which Mr. Yusuf Idris represents to moderate their desperation and accord due respect to our elder statesmen by avoiding cowardly and escapist statements against their person.
“We consider the action of Mr. Yusuf as a too brazen and given to easy defamation on the hard earned character of a senior citizen like General Aliyu Gusau who serves the nation at different levels of note including the position of National Security Adviser”. He stated
Bakyasuwa advised Governor Bello Matawalle, to minimize his endless national and international trips and stay in the state to focus on supervising the various operations of the Nigerian army against the bandits.
