Kebbi State Customs Command Make 227 Seizures Of Prohibited Items Last Year

In his efforts to comrpliment the Controller General of Nigeria Customs Service Hameed Ibrahim Ali in tackling the activities of smuggling in the country, Kebbi State Customs Area Command has intercepted and seized no fewer than 333 packs of cannabis sativa, two sacks of diazepam drugs and 121 sacks of power snuffs along the border area in the state.

Comptroller, Hafiz Kalla, said his command is determined to ensure that economic saboteurs were not given a breathing space in the state.

He stated this in press release issued to Journalist’s by the command public relation officer Nasiru Manga made available to our reporter, said the command activities of last year were focused mainly on suppression of smuggling as the land borders remained closed.

According to the statement revealed that the 227 seizures of last year were intercepted at different locations in the state. Comptroller Hafiz Kalla, explained that the command intercepted 333 packs of 1kg of Cannabis sativa, 2 sacks of diazepam; 5mg drugs and 121 sacks of power snuff.

Other items include 3,999 bags of 50kg of foreign Fertilizer and 2,021 bags of 50kg; 19 bags of 100kgand 20 cartons of 25kg of imported foreign Rice.

The statement reads apart; the command has intercepted 607 bales of fairly used cloths and 68 sacks of new and used foot wears among others”
