The Federal Medical Center Gusau has commissioned the 10 bedded Upgraded Intensive Care Unit and Echocardiography Center to improve healthcare delivery services among people of Zamfara State and beyond.
In an address of welcome, during the occasion held at the FMC ICU Center Friday, the Head of clinical services, Dr. Sunday O. Onazi explained that with the advent of the upgraded ICU and Echocardiography Center in the Hospital it would solve a lot of problems among Communities, adding that before, the patient has to be taken to Kano or Zaria for medical treatment as a result of insufficient facilities.
“After multiple calls by his office to the management of the hospital, the center upgraded out of the megre resources the hospital used to open the center”. He said.
Dr. Onazi commended the management of the Federal Medical Center Gusau under the leadership of Chief Medical Director Dr. Muhammad Bello Kwatarkwashi for the quick response on the upgrading the center as it will serve many patients.
In a Goodwill messages, Dr. Otume, commended the management of the hospital and Clinical services department for the successful upgrading and Commissioning the
10 bedded Upgraded Intensive Care Unit and Echocardiography Center at the main hospital premises.
In his remarks, the Medical Director, Federal Medical Center Gusau Dr. Muhammad Bello Kwatarkwashi, shortly after commissioning the center said, the project was executed was part of the Federal Government intervention fund for 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic in which the Federal Medical Center Gusau was lucky to have access 50 percent of the fund.
According to him, more developmental milestones projects and healthcare delivery facilities will be executed and procured with the funds for the improvement of healthcare delivery services among people of Zamfara State and beyond, calling on all unions in the hospital as well as management teams to support him to achieve the desired objectives.
