Abduction of Zamfara female students threat to Girl Child Education.

It has been observed that the recent abduction of Government Girls Secondary School Jangebe in Talata Mafara Local Government of Zamfara State as devastating and a huge setback for the Girl Child Education in the state and Nigeria as a whole.

This was made known by the Barr. Suwaiba Ibrahim Barau a
Former Permanent Member and Permanent Secretary of Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board and Former Chairperson Zamfara High Level Women Advocates(HiLWA) while reacting to the development occurred Yesterday Night in the state.

She said, “unfortunate incident occurred at a time when we are working day and Night to ensure no Girl is left out of school for a better society”.

According to her, it is worth mentioning that these acts of attacking and abducting students at mostly rural communities(which is where most girls are out of school) could lead to unbecoming set back to the effort of educating the girl .

She further suggested that,there is need for more effective collaboration and proper synergy amongst security agencies and communities across board to work together with a view to securing all schools and addressing banditry and other criminal activities in Nigeria , especially in the North West Geopolitical Zone.

“For these menaces of insecurity of lives and property to be adequately addressed, Community Policing ought to be encouraged and be at its highest as it will greatly assist conventional security architecture while dealing with the current situation in the country”. Barr. Suwaiba hinted.

She then advised that the ongoing effort of the Nigerian security agencies, state government, community leaders and other stakeholders need to be supported by all with a view to rescueing the girls unhurt and alive.
