In Frederick Forsyth 1973 book, The Day Of The Jackal, a dissident militant group tries without success to kill a serving French President. Frustrated by their failures, they hired an independent assassin, the Jackal who did not only failed but was also killed in the process. Although the book is a work of fiction, this is typical of what happens when mischievous elements are frustrated by a leadership that has prevented them from looting the treasury as is the case in present day Nigeria.
President Muhammadu Buhari has won so many enemies than friends because of his anti corruption fight. These enemies are doing all they can to tarnish his image and get him out of the way without success.
For this set of people, the towering achievement made by the President remain non existent. Consequently, they go all length trying to thwart the efforts of securing the nation, infrastructural and economic development recorded by the Buhari administration.
Few days ago, Nigerians were traumatised with the shocking news of the kidnap of 344 school children in Kankara, Katsina state on the 11th of December, 2020. What remained unclear is why it happened just when the President took a trip home to relax from the work load of His Office, So much did not add up as many believed it was a deliberate attempt by the ‘Jackals’ in Nigeria to assassinate the towering political image of the President and further redicule the security apparatus of the nation especially the Nigerian Army and the police. The whole plot did not just fail as the boys were successfully rescued but collaborators have also been exposed.
It has been revealed from highly classified intelligence that unpatriotic elements working hand in hand with international NGOs collected huge sums of money to descredit the President and further advance the narrative that there’s insecurity in the country. Amnesty International has particularly been fingered in this multi billion dollar scheme and are asking for a refund of their money since the project was not delivered to their expectations.
Suffice to note that the same elements who are alleged hired for the Kankara saga were same that executed the Chibok girls abduction campaign. While the abduction in what ever guise is condemnable, politicising the issues to dent the image of the nation and her security agencies as well as traumatising the parents of the abductees for pecuniary gains is not only despicable but also inhuman.
Nigerians must begin to rise against this ugly trend where citizens are paid by international organisations to paint the nation in negative light. Leading members of the #Bringbackourgirls agitation had their financies transformed within the campaign period, This is why i make bold to challenge our security agencies to put in place a strategy to investigate individuals with suspicious sudden wealth.
It is in the light of the above that l urge everybody who participated in this charade to do some good for the country by returning whatever money given to them by Amnesty International and their sponsors because the case has attracted the attention of the international community. Anybody who has benefited from the spoils of this shoddy sell out should not go about spending the money with reckless abandon but should return it because Interpol has already been alerted to track the brains behind this monumental fraud. All bank accounts will be tracked and very soon those with large sums of money they can’t account for will be made to face the law. Justice for Nigeria and Nigerians is sure to come.
If not for the swift response of the katsina state government, Nigerian Army, police and other security agencies in rescuing the boys and finding out those behind the attack, Nigerians would have been blaming the President and the security agencies for insecurity in the country. Those who are always willing to sell their country for peanuts should remember that their day of doom is close at hand. As the Bringbackourboys campaign managers are now stranded with the monies hurriedly collected from their International collaborators.
THIS NATION MUST NOT FALL…
