Yesterday 7th December, 2020, Hon Babawo as he is popularly called participated in high-level consultations in Kaduna on the insecurity situation in the state and urgent measures that must be taken to prevent a further deterioration.
The meeting which was chaired by the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Her Excellency Dr. Hadiza Balarabe had in attendance were Senators representing Zone 1 &2, his Honorable colleagues of the House of Representatives, State House of Assembly members, Commissioners for Internal Security and Justice, and Local Government Chairmen were also present.
Contributions at the meeting were incisive and frank. An inclusive approach which will involve critical stakeholders and give confidence to Kaduna State citizens was adopted. Stakeholders assured that security agencies would be fully supported to take the battle to bandits, kidnappers and other criminal elements terrorizing the people of Kaduna State. The people would also be fully mobilized to take necessary measures within their communities to complement the efforts of security agencies.
The Kaduna Meeting is a clear indication that stakeholders have had enough of the menace of bandits and kidnappers. All hands are now on deck to put an end to the menace. Hon Babawo said total support of his colleagues and stakeholders is required to make a success of the new resolve.
While they were at the crucial meeting, His Excellency Governor Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufa’i was in Abuja to meet with the Minister of Defence alongside the Chief of Army Staff and other relevant stakeholders. This is in a view to discussing and finding lasting solutions to the security challenges bedeviling the state and Nigeria atlarge.
Hon Garba Datti pledged to put in his best in supporting the government to see to the end of this menace.
