The National Chairman of Patrose for Advancement of Peace and Social Development, also Governorship Candidate under the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, in the 2019 Election in Zamfara State, Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi has called on the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC to investigate the immediate fast administration of former Governor Abdulaziz Yari for Financial misappropriation of over N77 billion recieved from the Federal Government statutory allocations to the state during his eight years governing the state.
Shinkafi made the call at a press conference in Gusau, saying he wrote 23 different petitions to the ICPC, EFCC on how the former Goveronor Abdulaziz Yari misappropriated some billions of Naira belonging to the state within his stewardship in office from 2011-2019.
“I am appealing to the EFCC to arrest, investigate and charge the former Goveronor Abdulaziz Yari to court for psyphoning and looting of our state treasury, and I want the EFCC to revisit the 23 petitions written by me against the former Goveronor Abdulaziz Yari for him to return our state’s money”.
He equally challenged how the former Goveronor Abdulaziz Yari settled himself pention and gratuity on the 27/5/2019, to the tune of over N350m and his Deputy N250m before he leave office and alledged to have diverted the sum of N17b and N20b for local Government funds through the state ministry of local Government and chieftaincy affairs without documentation in the name of awarding some contracts through Joint Account.
Shinkafi also chides Yari to return the sum of over N37 billion for the Federal roads constructed by his administration which was paid to him by the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing through Dept Management Office which was collected by the Director General of the Nigerian Governors Forum theon the 24/May, 2019 before he handover the mantle of power to PDP Government under the leadership of Goveronor Bello Mohammed Matawalle.
He however challenged the former Goveronor Abdulaziz Yari for awarding roads contracts to the tune of over N65b to the China Zhonghou Construction Coy and settled the Company the sum of N50b for uncompleted contracts in the JAC account through the State Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
“The EFCC must investigate the China Zhonghou Construction Coy, for bribing former EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu the sum of N50million to stop investigating the company about the contracts awarded to them by Yari’s administration”. Shinkafi said.
He called on President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene for the immediate investigating Yari and his associates for bankrupting the state treasury, saying, their Association, Advancement of Peace and Social Development will continue to struggle to ensure, former Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar and his people were arrested and prosecuted before the Court of Law.
