He further noted that, the arrest of Alhaji Habu Moh’d Dantabawa and 17 others on 12nd September, was based on intelligent driven and proactive measures taken by the Police to curtail any act of banditry and related criminality in the state.

“On the 12th September, 2020 the Police on intelligent and credible information got wind that certain individuals are holding a meeting with some leaders of repentant bandits with a view to entice them with monetary and other incentives in order to go back to the forest and return to the dark days the state found itself for time immemorial”. He said.

Nagoggo further noted that, the arrest of Dantabawa and 17 others by the Police, followed a police realization that, miscreants and people who doesn’t meant well for the good people of the state acted in a manner that was not only inimical to the peace of Zamfara but also displayed an act of rascality with its attendant consequences by invading the Police Command Headquarters on 13th September, 2020″. Cp. Nagoggo contended.

“The Police were patient and persuasive to end this barbaric act by using alternative dispute resolution to end the invasion of the Police Headquarters in the name of protest and any attempt to make protest again, capable of desrupting peace in any form by any group will be dealt with without fear or favor by the command”. Nagoggo warn.

“When I was a Deputy Commissioner of Police Administration, in Zamfara State in 2016, I chaired a Desamerment and Amnesty Committee with First Class Emir in the state as a member which was the beginning of the dialogue between the state government, Vigilante Group and Bandits that currently led to the return of many arms and ammunition which was handed over to the committee by the repentant bandits”. He said.

Nagoggo assured people of the state that, the Police under his watch will remain resolute to protect lives and properties, fight against criminals until a relative and permanent peace restored to the state, urging them to support the command with credible Information about criminals hideouts for prompt action.
