TheTalata Mafara Local Government Council Caretaker Chairman in Zamfara State, Alhaji Abubakar Musa has been accused of illegal trespass and seizure of a private mining company, Metro Bright- Merchants Nigeria Limited located at Sauna Village under Talata Mafara Local Government in the state.
This was made known by the Managing Director of the Company also the owner of the Company, Alhaji Shamsuddeen Sani Dahiru while reacting to the action of Council Chairman in an interview with Newsmen in Gusau Thursday.
According to him, since the official banning of mining activities by the Federal Government last year, his Company remain closed, lamenting that the Council Care Taker Chairman trespassed into his site without his consent.
“It is very unfortunate, despite the banning of mining activities by the federal government in the state just two days ago, the Sole Administrator of Talata Mafara local Government in Zamfara State, Alhaji Abubakar Musa used his power to illegally tresspassed to my Site and continue mining activities”. He said.
According to him, his company Metro Bright- Merchants Nigeria Limited has been registered with
the federal ministry of mines and solids mineral development as exploration license was given to him legitimately by the mining Cadastre office (federal ministry of mines and solid minerals development in 2017 and renewed the license in 2020, with license number 24813.
Alhaji Shamsuddeen Sani Dahiru further challenged that, Already Alhaji Abubakar Musa has brought excavators mechineries and started the mining processing and exploration in to the visinity of his Company located at Sauna Village in Talata Mafara Local Government, also stressed that efforts to draw his attention failed, describing his actions as injustice, unconstitutional and unfair.
On the next line of action to take, the MD, Metro Bright- Merchants Company Ltd, said, they reported the matter to the Mining Officer in the Federal Ministry of Mines and Solid Mineral Development Zamfara State Branch, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp, (NSCDC) Zamfara State Command, for prompt action, while calling on Federal Government, the Inspector General of Police and other relavant authorities in the country to come to intervene into the matter for Justice to prevail.
When contacted, the Sole Administrator of Talata Mafara local Government Alhaji Abubakar Musa denied the allegation label against him by the Managing Director of the Metro-Bright Merchants Company Ltd, Alhaji Shamsuddeen Sani Dahiru.
“Following the report that, Sauna Village and it’s forest became a flashpoint of rampant Kidnapping, banditry and catlle rustling, my administration deployed Vigilante Group and Police to restore peace and protect lives and Property of the community and we never trespass into mining company or mining activities as alledged by the Managing Director of Metro Bright-Merchants Mining Company Ltd”. Hon. Abubakar Musa said.
