NACOTAN SETS FOR DRY SEASON COTTON FARMING IN ZAMFARA.

The Zamfara State Chairman of the National Cotton Association of Nigeria(NACOTAN) Zamfara State Branch said arrangements have been concluded for the preparation of the year 2020 Dry season farming of Cotton among members of the Association for Cotton production development in the Country.

The National Chairman of the Association, Alhaji Sani Dahiru Gusau made the disclosure when he received a National Team constituted by the National President of NACOTAN to visit the state for pilot scheme of the programme this year in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Association Malam Bashir Kabir Ahmad and made available to Blueprint in Gusau Monday.

The NACOTAN Leader described the foresight as commendable initiative under President Muhammadu Buhari that will boast the nation’s economy.

He said Zamfara State Chapter of NACOTAN would within short period of time mobilise thousands of cotton farmers with a view to ensuring timely preparation for the programme.

Alh. Sani Dahiru who commended Federal government’s commitments to agricultural sector particularly cotton production appreciated the National leadership of NACOTAN under Mr Anebi Achimogu.

Earlier in his remarks the National Team Leader who is also a National Treasurer of NACOTAN Hon Abubakar Sadik Sanyinna said they came to Zamfara State to officially inform the State Chapter of NACOTAN of the Pilot Dry Season Cotton Farming slated for November this year and ascertain the potential of the state in regards to Dry Season farming.

According to him eight states had been selected for the pilot scheme and they were impressed by the state’s potential as well as proper coordination of Zamfara State NACOTAN Chapter.
